Built from live use
More than two decades of hosting experience, a professional Apple Silicon broadcast workflow and the habit of building the tools that are missing.
Twitch VODs preserve much of the context of a broadcast: chat, viewer activity, alerts and timing. A clean local OBS recording normally preserves only the programme output unless that context is deliberately built into the production.
I stream on a Mac and record a separate 4K production master. I wanted the useful parts of the live experience—chat, statistics and event information—to remain visible in that recording, under my control and at full local quality.
The required Mac-focused dashboard and OBS widgets did not exist in the form I needed, so I built them.
The system is fully developed and used in production. It remains a private technical platform while new integrations are tested; it is not currently marketed as a public product.
Viewer count, uptime and live status can be rendered directly into the local production master.
Twitch API, OAuth and live chat data feed purpose-built OBS browser sources.
Independent routing, monitoring and microphone sidechain processing keep programme audio controlled.
A side venture became practical experience in uptime, customer support and operating services people depend upon.
DNS, email, databases, web servers, virtualisation and the discipline of understanding what breaks before it does.
Modern virtualisation, Netgate pfSense, gigabit connectivity and geographically dispersed authoritative DNS with DNSSEC.
The Mac Studio became a working broadcast environment for Twitch integration, OBS automation, 4K recording and audience-directed media experiments.
The streaming work sits on infrastructure originally built for commercial hosting—not a disposable demonstration environment.
PHP 8.4, Apache MPM Event, MySQL and tokenised JSON services supporting the dashboard and OBS widgets.
A Mac Studio M2 Ultra with 128 GB unified memory provides the broadcast workstation and virtualised service environment.
Netgate pfSense, segmented networks, business gigabit connectivity and geographically dispersed PowerDNS with DNSSEC.
HTTPS throughout, encrypted credentials, secure sessions and independently controlled API access.
Current development · September 2026
The current pilot connects scarce, high-value Twitch Channel Points redemptions with authorised music generation and managed OBS playback. A viewer supplies the creative brief; the production system controls generation, audio routing and transmission.
Development is deliberately low-volume and uses official provider access only. Consumer-session wrappers, CAPTCHA services and private-interface automation are excluded.
Completed E-BUS music productions and released-track videos provide the public record of the wider audio project.
The dashboard remains private, but technical collaboration, official API access and controlled integration pilots are welcome.
